Natural History Extinction Series is a series of photographs taken in 2010 at the Melbourne Natural History Museum in Australia. The room was disturbing and it is only in 2023 that I understand why. It represents a past frozen in time and preserved for the future. I have pushed the exposure on the photographs of the taxidermied animal to such an extreme that they become isolated from their surroundings as if irradiated by a nuclear explosion or the sun. They appear like cutouts in a scrapbook, a prophetic prophecy of a possible real future.
